Team Sloan

Definitely TEAM SLOAN (aka Emmanuelle Chriqui) I love the wardrobe they picked out for her character on Entourage.

Let's Get Married...

Wait, not me! I'm referring to Jagged Edge's song they did back in 2000. First of all, Jagged Edge has to be my all-time favorite musicians, ev-er! Anyways, while listening to one of the remixes of the song (there's so many from a cha-cha, to rave, to mellow),the intro mentions "Kanye"...as in Kanye West of course. Craazy, didn't even know he produced it and features in it. He's the one who raps:

"I wanna give u more ice than the ice capades I got the church, the ring, there`s something I`m forgettin Oh we gotta have JE sing at the wedding"

Funny huh? I always liked this remix better than the one with RUN DMC.

The BFF's: Zoe & Olivia

Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Thirlby featured in Vogue Magazine:

Zoe Kravitz is the offspring of famous musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet. I must say that she is the best final product of any celebrity couple. Her face is flawless (from pictures anyways) and her closet looks like it has clothes I would wanna steal for myself ...

As for her BFF, Olivia Thirlby, she plays the BFF in the movie "Juno". If her real-life personality is anywhere near her character in the movie (minus the old man fetish) then I would totally befriend her.

***Catch their article in Vogue April 2009 issue. Describes from how they met, to what styles they relate to or what not, and just them conversing back and forth to each other.

Hollywoodland

***Due to my ONE avid reader, I am doing another post ;)

I'm very easily fascinated with "Old Hollywood(land)". Must be the style and fashion of "Old Hollywood Glamour" and the mysterious and eerie events that occurred during this era. After watching movies like "Black Dahlia", "Hollywoodland" and "Changeling"...it makes me wanna go to the library and read up on all articles relating to these events. It scares me shitless but I'm so damn curious.

With all this interest in "Old Hollywood", my latest vision of my wedding would have an "Old Hollywood Glamour" motif behind it. Laced wedding dress with the waved hair, being escorted in a classic Rolls Royce Phantom, a ballroom with beautiful antique chandeliers hanging from above, a full swing band playing the best jazz music, overflowing glasses of the best bubbly, the guys (and girls?) smoking the most potent cigars (outside tho homies)....yeah you get the point right?

But as I find myself going to present day Hollywood(land), all I can think of are the bomb ass bacon-wrapped hot dogs after a hardy night partying at the club. Geeez, what a way to lose its true essence.

Beauties of "Old Hollywood":

Greta Garbo

Ava Gardner

And then there's the Baddest Bitch of the Hills:

Mae West

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough"

"When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before"

"I'll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure"

"I'm no model lady. A model's just an imitation of the real thing"

"A dame that knows the ropes isn't likely to get tied up" (my fave!)

Amaaaazing. Google her....

Real Men

In some weird way, I find the following men very handsome. They are all over the age of 40 and they definitely age well. Maybe it's their acting skills? Maybe just the way they portray themselves in the media? Well whatever it is, they are sitting high on the top of my list. Maybe not "looks" wise but its just something about them......

Liam Neeson - Maybe it's cuz I've watched Taken so many f'n times but I just realized he's awesome! My girl Net has always kept him in high standing and I finally realized why. I mean really, how do you deny "Mr. Schindler" and his role in the movie "Love Actually". And if you watched "Taken", you'd for sure want him as your dad!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan - First caught interest in him when I got addicted to "Weeds" (the TV show) although he did have a minor part. Then remembered him in "Grey's Anatomy". Then finally saw him in "PS I Love You". It must be that rugged appeal...it's sorta, well, appealing.

Blair Underwood - Mann! I always had a crush on him! Definition of "sexy" in my opinion, so handsome! He sure "set it off" for me in "Set it Off" (whoa, ok that was cheeseball!). Then with his appearance in "Sex and the City" just put the icing on the cake. He has success written all over his face. Also, he has this book out Before I Got Here, which is a book worth checking out.

I Don't Blame Him!

Ok, as a continuation of my music video session, I kept skimming thru videos on Worldstarhiphop and ran into Jamie Foxx's "Blame It" music video!

So, lets play a lil' game...name all cast members in appearance order. LOL. I guess after winning an Oscar, you just get so much clout in the industry, it gets you full-studded cast. But really? Ron Howard? Must be the coolest old, white guy on the block right now.

And yes, I most definitely agree with Jamie, BLAME THE ALCOHOL...sometimes I think that's the only legitimate excuse.

"The Other Sister"

As I try to force myself to sleep, I'm trying to figure out what songs I can add to my iPod since it's in desperate need of an update. My girl Mae, who is an official music junkie, informed me that Solange's album is surprisingly...good. And I'm starting to believe her because her song "T.O.N.Y." is playing on MTV Jams right now. Whatta know, it's the "Jam of the Week". I'll just have to find my way to iTunes and download the album. Cuz really, why does Beyonce always get the spotlight? Let the other one shine for a second or two or maybe even three...sheesh.

PS. I'll be having a post on all current events...soon...I hope? Sometimes it sucks being lazy, such a horrible trait. I'll kick that to the curb soon and upload all my photos...be back real soon :)

Olsen + Shoes = Impluse Buy

So, I was never-ever into platformed shoes, even the slightest lift bothered me. But I guess I had a change of "foot" (haha heart) and the ones that I've been eyeing for a couple months now are the Nine West Ellis Sandals. When I was down in L.A., I saw em, contemplated but didn't budge. But as I was scanning thru Olsens Anonymous, I saw Mary-Kate rockin' something like them....and that pretty much made up my mind ;) Grey or black will do...

***Sidenote*** I've always had this closet obsession with the Olsen Twins...even way before they became "fashionistas". Like, I'm talking about when they made all those cheeseball twin movies where they went to camp and had family vacations to Europe and the Bahamas. I even tried to copy their "wave perm" back in 2001. Haa, wow now that's sorta stalkerish huh? Anyways, I love their style and if I had the chance to steal from a celebrity's closet, it would definitely be the Olsen Twins (more Mary-Kate's side tho).
